JAREK ZABA
- audio producer and sound designer
- oral historian and heritage specialist
My experience in audio narrative documentary, fiction podcasts, and branded content is married to a strong background in oral history programmes and heritage work. This gives me a unique storytelling profile that delivers for mass audience radio programmes and highly tailored heritage programmes alike.
I have worked across the full spectrum of audio, from award winning documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service to fiction podcasts for illustrious clients such as the National Archives. I have been commissioned as a producer for BBC programmes, delivered branded content for large corporates and small businesses, and I've managed extensive oral history programmes and podcast projects for small charities. My audio for exhibitions has been heard everywhere from London Zoo to the V&A.

The dual nature of my specialisms reflects my academic background, having studied journalism, history and audio production over three degrees. The knowledge and skills gained on this journey is complemented by a natural ear for the audio medium, as evidenced by my sound design featuring on award winning BBC programmes, as well as the ability to translate any audio content into the written form, with such work featuring in five books released in partnership with Kingston University Press.
I am always open to developing new relationships with clients who are seeking to tell compelling stories through audio and the written word, whether for radio, podcast, exhibitions, or web content.
"I can't recommend Jarek enough. We've worked with him a lot and will keep coming back to him – he's professional, flexible, and fun.
As both a producer and sound designer, he just 'gets it' as shown in his mixing work. Listen to this 'passing of time' montage in Episode 1 of Buried: The Last Witness." - Lucy Taylor, Co-Founder of Smoke Trail Productions
