JAREK ZABA

- podcast producer and sound designer

My experience in podcast production spans narrative documentary and 'always on' regular shows, as well as fiction podcast and branded content.

The titles I have delivered often tie into my passions for sport, music, history and journalism, whether its working with high profile talent on light hearted cricket chat (Tailenders), telling the story of a hip hop cult hero (MF DOOM: Long Island to Leeds), or producing BBC World Service documentaries that cover historic sporting greatness  (Sporting Witness) or the role of AI in a greener future (People Fixing the World

I am also a highly experienced sound designer and mix artist, working across three series of acclaimed Radio 4 documentary title Buried. I've helped to elevate its groundbreaking environmental investigations into ambitious and original forms of audio storytelling, as well as contributing production support as an AP, helping the title to secure multiple awards (2023 British Podcast Awards Gold; No 3 on Guardian's Best Podcasts of 2024; Winner 2025 New York Festival Radio Awards; Winner 2025 DIG Awards).

While comfortable in producing high profile talent, I am also passionate about capturing the stories of every day people, with a background in heritage work and oral histories.

"I can't recommend Jarek enough. We've worked with him a lot and will keep coming back to him – he's professional, flexible, and fun.

As both a producer and sound designer, he just 'gets it' as shown in his mixing work. Listen to this 'passing of time' montage in Episode 1 of Buried: The Last Witness."
